Designing of a dual-functional XOR block in QCA technology

Abstract Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) technology was proposed as a way to implement digital circuits with transistorless approach for overcoming CMOS limitations in terms of short channel effects and scale-down continuity. The main building block QCA is the square cell couple free movement electrons, electrons’ configuration inside gives ability represent binary information. Researchers were attracted because its impressive features such size speed. Many important circuits, multiplexers exclusive-OR, presented various layouts, looking reducing metrics count, area, implementation cost. In this work, dual functional XOR proposed. can function 2-input or 3-input XOR, providing greater flexibility. When compared earlier gates that did not have function, results show significant improvement cost about 7%, 50%, 54%, respectively. QCADesigner software used design well verification issues.
